Karachi, April 19 ) Police on Monday arrested a key terrorist affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Malir area of Karachi.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Irfan Bahadur, a police party raided the Malir area and arrested a key terrorist belonging to the TTP.
The arrested terrorist named Usman Ghani alias Irfan belongs to the Bajauri group of the TTP and is trained.
Usman went to Afghanistan for training in 2019, where he met with Taliban commander Qari Obaidullah alias Qari Saqib, the SSP said, adding that he had discovered the hidden ways to reach Afghanistan from Bajaur.
The arrested terrorist was involved in an attack on security forces in the Charmang area of Bajaur, in which a soldier was martyred. This post was connected to colleagues through Facebook.
Illegal weapons and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused and the TTP terrorist is under investigation, the SSP said, adding that more arrests are expected in the near future.
